Lady Lopez is Back

After many years out of the spotlight, dedicating herself to motherhood and being a wife to romantic ballad crooner Marc Anthony, JLO is back with a bang. In early January of this year Lopez signed on to be a part of the American Idol empire as a key judge with the departure of Idol's infamous Simon Cowell, Karo DioGuardi and sweetheart Ellen DeGeneres.  Alongside newly acquired Steven Tyler from Aerosmith and Idol vet Randy Jackson, Miss Lopez seems to fit right into the Idol family .

In February 2011, JLO landed the Giillette Venus Brand Global Ambassador gig to help launch the Venus Goddess Fund for Education which supports female empowerment through education, as well as organizations like CARE International, The Step Up Women's Network, and her own Maribel foundation.  The commercial features a svelte Lopez and those amazing legs performing at a concert, walking the red carpet and running care-free through the beach.  The song for the commercial is her remake of Shocking Blue's "Venus" which was popularized and redone by 80s girl group Bananarama.

In March 2011 Lopez debuted her first video "On the Floor" featuring Pitbull for her upcoming album Love?
The video which samples Kaoma's 1989 hit "Lambada" features a glitzy Lopez and sounds very similar to her club hits of the past.  The single hit Billboards charts at #16 slot in the pop category as of this week.  Not bad for a mother of twins huh?  Check out the video.  Love it or Hate it??? You be the judge...No pun intended!

Most recently Lady Lopez shot a music video to her second single "I'm Into You" in the Chichen-Itza ruins in Mexico for her upcoming album Love? which drops tomorrow.  Lopez clad in head to toe snake skin print which featured a Lanvin halter dress, head wrap and bangles paired with Tous diamond earrings looking as stunning and beautiful as her younger days.

With all the success that Miss JLO has acquired from her days as a Fly Girl with In Living Color, to her breakout starring role in Selena, her highly profiled romance to Ben Affleck AKA her "Bennifer Days" many doubted that this fashion forward diva could set the bar once again, but she seems to be doing alright for herself these days.  Through all her successes, mishaps and comebacks Lady Lopez makes it looks so easy and carefree.  Who would have thunk it coming from a middle class Puerto Rican girl from the Bronx. When I see her do her thing, personally it always inspires me to keep on pushing for that American Dream.  Anything is possible...you gotta believe!!! Have a good Monday folks.
